Seyfarth to Sponsor and John Napoli and Lorie Almon to Speak at IMN’s Forum on Real Estate Opportunity & Private Fund Investing

John Napoli, co-chair of Seyfarth’s Tax practice and Opportunity Zone Funds team, and Lorie Almon, partner in Seyfarth’s Labor & Employment practice, will speak at the Information Management Network (IMN)’s 19th Annual Winter Forum On Real Estate Opportunity & Private Fund Investing in Laguna Beach, California from January 18-20.

John will moderate “Investment Strategies in 2023: Finding Value & Generating Returns” on January 18. The panel will cover investment strategies in today’s climate, realistic returns, deal availability, opportunities for growth, the capital raising environment for specific funds, the value-add of fund managers, stabilized vs. opportunistic assets, and asset underwriting strategies. John will also serve as a panelist for "Transitioning From an Emerging to an Established Fund Manager" on January 20, where he and other panelists will discuss topics such as when to start second funds; top concerns and pain points of launching and managing the first fund and how those are being addressed in subsequent fund launches; fees structures and economics; changes in capital raising strategies; changes in reporting requirements; new compliance considerations or changes to existing compliance structures; and increased investor transparency.

Lorie will serve as a panelist for “Addressing the Importance of ESG in Commercial Real Estate Investment” on January 19. The session will cover embedding ESG and sustainability into CRE investments, benefits of prioritizing ESG, PACE and other financing options for sustainable CRE projects, LP allocations and information requirements for ESG investments, oversight, management, and reporting of ESG matters, and challenges of establishing an ESG focus within an organization.
