Seyfarth Wins Innovative Project of the Year Award for Second Year in a Row

CHICAGO (August 22, 2014) – For the second consecutive year, Seyfarth Shaw LLP received the Innovative Project of the Year award from the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) for excellence in legal innovation and technology.

Seyfarth was honored with the Innovative Project of the Year award for SeytMap, a new interactive product that transforms the firm’s renowned and industry leading process mapping experience into a robust, sophisticated and interactive matter management tool. By bringing process maps to life in this way, SeytMap allows lawyers and project managers to fully operationalize, tailor and manage a process in an interactive environment. It connects action steps in the process with key support items — such as instructions/tutorials, checklists and precedential documents — and facilitates administrative actions, such as time entry. The result is a higher-quality, more efficiently managed and coordinated effort.

Developed by Seyfarth’s Client Solutions Group and Application Development Group, ILTA recognized SeytMap as “a major step forward by the firm to increase the quality and efficiency of legal services through the creative and strategic use of technology.” Seyfarth accepted the award on August 19 during ILTA’s Distinguished Peer Awards program, the culminating event of the ILTA 2014 Conference which draws more than 3,000 attendees from legal departments and law firms around the world. The event and its awards program have grown in prominence each year, reflecting the transformational role that technology plays in the field of law.

This year’s award for SeytMap represents the latest in a series of recent ILTA accolades that highlight Seyfarth’s commitment to improving the delivery of legal services through technology.
