Seyfarth’s Brett Bartlett and Angelo Paparelli Elected Fellows of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers

June 22, 2020 – Seyfarth is pleased to announce that partners Brett Bartlett and Angelo Paparelli have been elected Fellows of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers Class of 2020. Seyfarth is home to more than 30 elected Fellows of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers is a non-profit professional association honoring the leading lawyers nationwide in the practice of labor and employment law. Fellows are recognized as members of the labor and employment community who promote achievement, advancement, and excellence in the practice by setting standards of professionalism and civility, sharing their experience and knowledge, and acting as a resource for academia, the government, the judiciary, and the community at large. These individuals are elected annually based on a rigorous vetting process where nominees are evaluated based on their character, integrity, and professional experience throughout their career. All Fellows of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers have practiced labor and employment law for at least 20 years.

Bartlett is a partner in Seyfarth’s Atlanta office and co-chairs the firm’s national Wage and Hour Litigation practice group. A trusted advisor to executive-suite leadership and in-house counsel regarding strategic workforce matters, he has also defended more than 200 class, collective, and complex employee pay, overtime, and hours-related lawsuits filed in jurisdictions across the country. As employers’ counsel, Bartlett has helped clients across a spectrum of industries to assess compliance with state and federal employment laws during due diligence initiatives preceding mergers and acquisitions, as part of internal, preventative legal reviews, and to support the defense of dozens of investigations of pay, timekeeping, and classification practices by United States Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division and by similar local and state government agencies.

Paparelli is a partner in Seyfarth’s Los Angeles office and co-chairs the firm’s national Immigration Compliance & Enforcement and EB-5 Immigrant Investment groups. He is known among clients and peers for providing creative solutions to complex immigration law problems, especially those involving mergers and acquisitions. A Certified Immigration Law Specialist (California), Paparelli has experience in a wide array of sub-specialties of US immigration law, and a focus on employment- and investment-based immigration. Notably, he also serves as an expert witness and consultant on immigration issues arising in litigation, and as an advocate for due-process reforms to America’s immigration laws.
