Seyfarth’s Douglas Mancino Receives ABA Business Law Section’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Nonprofit Law
Douglas Mancino, partner in Seyfarth's Corporate department in Los Angeles, received the Vanguard Award from the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Business Law Section. The ABA’s 2020 Outstanding Nonprofit Lawyer Awards recognized Mancino for distinguished lifetime achievement in the nonprofit sector.
Mancino has represented tax-exempt organizations on business, tax and financial matters throughout his 46-year career. He also has extensive experience in audits, appeals, and other tax controversies, including tax litigation in the U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Ninth, Tenth and Eleventh Circuits. He has served as counsel to health care clients in a case that defined the limits of tax-exempt organizations participating in health care joint ventures and represents tax-exempt health plans throughout the United States.
