Seyfarth’s EEOC Year-End analysis was featured in Law360Bloomberg LawThe American Lawyer, HR Dive, Engineering News-Record, Employee Benefit News, and another Law360 article, citing both Chris DeGroff and Andrew Scroggins. The analysis discussed how the number of discrimination cases filed by the EEOC this year dipped after an uptick last year, even as a new Democratic majority and general counsel broke a partisan deadlock that had limited aspects of the agency’s work.

DeGroff told Law360 that there’s “been a standard methodology of the EEOC over the last couple of years — to announce a priority, and then drop the hammer on that same priority through litigation to really get the message across to employers.”

Scroggins told Bloomberg Law that “the dip in filed cases despite these changes may indicate the agency faced budget and resource constraints that hampered its litigating power.”

DeGroff told Law.com that “the lawyers at the EEOC that are frontline soldiers in this are stretched very thin.”
