Seyfarth’s Ingrid C. Manevitz, partner in the firm’s Litigation department in New York, was appointed co-chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Cooperative and Condominium Committee. Manevitz was also named a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Real Property Law Section Executive Committee.

Manevitz provides general counseling to boards and property managers of condominiums and cooperatives, and litigation avoidance counseling to sponsors of new construction and conversion projects. She also litigates disputes involving boards of condominiums and cooperatives, individual unit owners and shareholders, sponsors, building owners, architects, engineers, and sales and marketing agents. In addition, Manevitz litigates general commercial, construction and corporate law matters.

The Condominiums and Cooperatives Committee is one of the most active committees of the New York State Bar Association’s Real Property Law Section. The Committee holds regular meetings where a variety of speakers discuss recent developments and cutting edge issues in the world of condominiums and cooperatives. Notably, representatives of the Attorney General’s offices are often invited to speak. In addition, the Committee drafted the form of condominium contract used in virtually all non-developer condominium sales in the City of New York and outlying areas, and has periodically commented on proposed legislation.
