Seyfarth’s Rebecca Woods Recognized for Gaining One of Top 100 Verdicts in Georgia in 2023

Seyfarth partner Rebecca Woods was recognized by Best of the Bar for achieving one of the Top 100 Verdicts in Georgia in 2023. This recognition, which is “limited annually to fewer than Top 1% of all licensed attorneys, and is only bestowed after a rigorous investigation and verification process,” stems from a significant jury trial victory that Rebecca obtained on behalf of a client in Georgia.

The case involved the owner of a residential, mixed-use development in midtown Atlanta which sued a large, international construction company because of significant defects in the installation of over 100,000 square feet of gypsum concrete. The company refused to address the issues, forcing Woods to pursue the litigation. After a five-day trial, the jury returned a verdict for Woods’ client for $5.3 million, which was also later awarded more than $1.3 million in attorneys’ fees and costs.
