With Congress back from recess, new leadership in the agencies, and next year's Presidential election, there are certain to be changes affecting employers on several fronts. Join Seyfarth Shaw’s Government Relations and Policy Group for a labor and employment-focused legislative and regulatory update, and a discussion on what we can expect over the next two years.
Topics to be discussed include:
- The House and Senate agenda: With apparent gridlock on virtually every significant issue, are there any compromises on the horizon?
- Wage and Hour: Overtime, joint employer, regular rate, and tip credit. What's next from this increasingly active agency?
- The EEOC is under new leadership and the Hill seems focused on equal employment opportunity issues: Where are we headed in this sensitive area? And what is happening at the OFCCP?
- Immigration: Any relief for the business community (or anyone else for that matter) in sight?
- The NLRB: There has been a major uptick in activity at the agency as of late. What's been finalized and what looks to be in the pipeline?
