Three Seyfarth Partners Named to Crain’s 2018 List of “Most Influential Women Lawyers in Chicago”

Seyfarth Shaw Chicago partners Camille Olson (Labor & Employment), Amanda Sonneborn (Labor & Employment) and Suzanne Saxman (Corporate) were recognized as some of the “Most Influential Women Lawyers in Chicago” by Crain’s Chicago. This is the second time that Olson has made the list.

The women featured in the second edition represent an impressive cross-section of the Chicago-area legal community. Many of them have practiced with distinction for decades, while others are on-the-rise attorneys making their mark. Some have helped set new legal precedents at the U.S. Supreme Court while others have developed winning legal theories that have become standard in state and federal courts. All make it a point to mentor other women lawyers and to give back to their community in myriad ways.

For decades, Camille A. Olson has represented companies in class actions involving relationships with independent contractors. Earlier this year, she was retained by some of the largest media and gig economy companies to defend against systemic worker misclassification challenges. Her role in a Senate committee hearing was covered by numerous media outlets, and she also published a paper on the topic. She’s on the advisory council to the dean of the University of Michigan Law School.

Known for litigating class-action and multi-plaintiff claims, Amanda Sonneborn is an authority on Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) litigation and traditional labor law. She serves as co-managing partner of her firm’s Chicago office, represents multiple Fortune 500 clients and supports the firm’s pro bono efforts. She’s frequently quoted by legal and industry media outlets and was previously named one of the National Law Journal’s 40 Under 40 Rising Stars in Chicago.

Led by Suzanne Saxman, Seyfarth’s national mergers and acquisitions practice engaged in more than 200 M&A transactions over the last two years. She’s the immediate past president of ACG Chicago and continues to serve on its board. Since 1986, she’s served as pro bono legal counsel to Austin Peoples Action Center.
