Using Data to Drive Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace
The murder of George Floyd and the ensuing calls for justice and anti-racism was a moment of rekoning for Corporate America. This work continued through 2021. Seyfarth’s People Analytics Team was already focused on counseling employers on issues of inclusion and diversity, but expanded work nearly 400% in one year to help employers build more robust inclusion and diversity plans, often driven by Boards of Directors, shareholder pressure, ESG efforts, or through talent initiatives. We provide companies with the analytical framework necessary to achieve their diversity program objectives. We have deep experience providing legal counsel and advice on diversity best practices globally, as well as in the United States. Our metrics and analyses, which may be protected under attorney-client privilege, assist in identifying areas of opportunity that can be addressed while tracking progress toward meaningful solutions. This year, the Seyfarth team helped several major companies build and institute diversity and inclusion strategies applicable across the company.
