Webinar Recording: Seyfarth & Marcum Present CTA Essentials - Preparing for Corporate Transparency Act Compliance
About the Program
With compliance deadlines fast approaching, companies should be prepared for the new reporting obligations required by the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), which took effect on January 1, 2024. The CTA requires certain companies to report specific beneficial ownership and control information, disclose information about who created the entity or registered it to do business in the US, and report any change to previously reported information to the US Department of Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) within a specified time period or face significant civil and criminal penalties.
Join Marcum and Seyfarth Shaw for a panel on what you need to know when it comes to CTA compliance, including:
- Which entities are reporting companies?
- When must a report be filed?
- Who is a beneficial owner?
- What Beneficial Owner Information (BOI) must be reported?
- Which entities are exempt from the reporting requirements of the CTA?
- Does an exempt entity need to file a report to demonstrate its exempt status?
- How can you prepare for compliance?
