More About Alan
Alan advises clients on executive compensation, employee benefits, and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) matters, with a particular focus on clients within the financial services industry. Prior to joining Seyfarth, Alan spent 24 years in the legal department of a leading global investment banking and asset management firm, where he was a managing director and the head of the ERISA, Compensation and Benefits group. In this role, Alan oversaw the legal coverage related to the firm’s executive compensation and employee benefit plans, programs, and arrangements and ERISA matters in connection with the firm’s buy and sell side products and services. Alan has been an industry leader in connection with ERISA matters, serving for almost 15 years as Co-Chair of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) Retirement & Savings Committee, and most recently as Co-Chair of the SIFMA Asset Asset Management Group Retirement Investment Forum.
Prior to joining an in-house legal department, Alan was a partner in the ERISA department of a major New York law firm.
Alan’s experience as an in-house lawyer guiding a large global financial institution through the ever-evolving and complex areas of law involving ERISA, executive compensation and employee benefits gives him a perspective on the specific challenges, concerns, and exposure that clients face.
Prior to joining an in-house legal department, Alan was a partner in the ERISA department of a major New York law firm.
