More About Caitlin
Employers with a multi-jurisdictional workforce face a unique set of employment law matters to consider and harmonize across the countries in which they operate. Caitlin understands these complexities and helps clients find strategic solutions to their most challenging cross-border employment concerns in a way that considers both legal and business objectives.
Caitlin counsels clients across the globe on matters including performance and discipline, hiring and termination, leaves of absence, global policies and employment contracts, internal investigations, wage-and-hour laws, contingent workers and outsourcing, discrimination and harassment, and restrictive covenants. She also advises on restructurings, site closures, and mass redundancies impacting clients both domestically and internationally.
Additionally, Caitlin counsels clients involved in cross-border merger, acquisition and divestiture transactions. This includes labor and employment due diligence, pre-closing employee transfer analysis and document preparation, benefits harmonization, works council consultation processes, and post-close integration of employees.
Caitlin also previously worked in Sydney, Australia, where she regularly defended employers against unfair dismissal and general protections applications in the Fair Work Commission and discrimination claims in the Australian Human Rights Commission and the state Civil and Administrative Tribunals.
Caitlin's experience in the US and Australia provide her with a unique understanding of the cross-border employment matters that international employers face. She has an ability to understand not only the legal nuances across countries, but also understands the global cultural complexities that can impact strategy.
