Candace represents employers in state and federal courts in a broad range of labor and employment claims and complex litigation matters.

Candace’s experience includes the defense of major statewide wage and hour class action and collective action claims involving meal break, rest break, misclassification, overtime, expense reimbursement alternative workweek schedule and work-off-the-clock allegations, and the defense of multiplaintiff claims involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, and whistleblower/retaliation. She has extensive arbitration experience, including FINRA arbitrations.
She also provides training and advice and counsel, including wage and hour audits, to employers to proactively avoid single plaintiff and class action litigation. Candace has worked with national employers in various industries, including agriculture, retail, pharmaceutical, entertainment, health care, on-demand technology, aerospace, manufacturing/wholesaler, insurance, and financial.
Candace is a leader in Seyfarth’s Pay Equity group, Financial Services practice group, and Future Enterprise group. She is an active member of Seyfarth’s national Wage and Hour practice group, and editor of the California Wage and Hour blog and Future Enterprise blog. Super Lawyers has listed Candace multiple times among its Southern California Rising Stars for Employment Litigation (Thomson Reuters) (2013-2017). Candace also earned Seyfarth’s Pro Bono Team of the Year award in 2013 for her first-chair role in an arbitration that overturned a seven-figure judgment, and entered an award in favor of our client on its cross claims and attorneys’ fees.
Candace also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable James S. Otero of the US District Court for the Central District of California.

- Chaired arbitration to a defense verdict involving breach of contract and fraud claims on a disputed lease agreement.
- Defeated class certification in wage and hour class actions involving alleged meal and rest period violations, off-the-clock claims, overtime claims, minimum wage violations and claims for failure to reimburse business expenses.
- Defeated class certification in misclassification case involving auto repair shop coordinators for national insurance company.
- Defeated class certification in misclassification case involving retail banking managers for national banking association.
- Obtained walk-away settlement in representative action under the Private Attorneys General Act filed by a retail pharmacy employee alleging company denied retail employees suitable seating.
