More About Chris
Whether facing competition for new deals or the efficient implementation of a company’s objectives, clients have to navigate a transactional environment characterized by complexity and rapidity. Chris zeroes in on the critical issues raised in a transaction, and he closes deals with dedication and a practical appreciation for his clients' business goals.
Chris helps his clients acquire, develop, and finance real estate, including industrial warehouse development and leasing, retail leasing, acquisition and development for restaurants and other industries, and construction and permanent lending across product types. Early in his career, he represented a large financial institution in the management and disposal of its real estate assets. This gave him a solid understanding of the concerns that commercial real estate clients face in the marketplace.
Whether a client is a business owner developing land or a lender financing real estate, Chris's clients benefit from efficient solutions to the problems that arise on both sides of a transaction. He understands his clients' business models, and is familiar with the risks investors and lenders try to mitigate on the other side of the transaction.
As a research assistant in law school, Chris researched developments in real estate finance law for annual updates to the treatise Georgia Real Estate Finance and Foreclosure Law, and state and local regulation and acquisition of vacant and tax-delinquent property. This was a lesson in the pitfalls that owners and lenders can encounter when a transaction is not documented properly. Chris uses that knowledge to anticipate problems at the beginning of a transaction to avoid those pitfalls later.
For Chris, the best part about working at Seyfarth is the sense of being part of cooperative teamwork across the firm. In turn, this makes it easy to for Chris to help clients meet their business goals.
