More About Emily
Emily's practice includes a variety of complex commercial litigation disputes, including those which involve business torts, noncompete and nonsolicitation agreements, trade secrets, requests for injunctive relief, unfair competition, product liability, and alleged violations of state and federal consumer protection statutes.
Businesses face both external and internal threats to their confidential information and trade secrets. Emily works with clients to take the necessary steps to protect that information, both by setting up necessary safeguards to ensure trade secret classification and by assisting our clients to implement enforceable restrictive covenants to provide a remedy for our clients if its confidential information and/or trade secrets are threatened by its current and/or former employees. In the event that a client's trade secrets and confidential information is being misused or misappropriated, Emily steps in to take emergency action to obtain immediate court intervention preventing any further misuse of such information and obtain immediate return of any information that the party should not have access to, as well as to seek to enforce any applicable non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.
Businesses also regularly face a variety of other complex commercial litigation issues, including those which involve business torts, unfair competition claims, product liability claims, and alleged violations of state and federal consumer protection statutes. Emily represents and counsels clients through all phases and forms of litigation, including pre-litigation resolution, alternative dispute resolution, emergency injunctions, jury trials, and appeals.
Before joining Seyfarth Shaw, Emily worked as a law clerk for a boutique Chicago commercial litigation firm. She also worked as a Summer Associate at Seyfarth Shaw in 2015. Before law school, she worked at a Chicago nonprofit organization that focused on providing volunteer opportunities for families in underserved Chicago neighborhoods.
