Hana has represented high-net-worth individuals and businesses before the US Tax Court, and with respect to tax examinations and criminal investigations conducted by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the California Franchise Tax Board, the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration, and the Employment Development Department.
She has drafted and filed US Tax Court petitions, reviewed clients' tax returns with special attention to international tax matters, and prepared and filed appeals protests. She has assisted clients with the IRS Voluntary Disclosure Practice and Streamlined Foreign and Domestic Offshore procedures. She has prepared and filed information returns, including Form 3520, Form 8938, and the Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts.
Additionally, Hana has prepared Freedom of Information Act requests, drafted legal memos, conducted legal research, and managed residential and commercial properties, as well as reviewed and drafted lease agreements, operating agreements, assignment and assumption agreements, nominee agreements, and deeds of trust.
Prior to starting her practice, Hana worked as a judicial extern to the Honorable Gregory Alarcon at the Los Angeles Superior Court. She also served as a Bridge fellow at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. She is fluent in both French and Japanese.
