More About James
Companies face new and evolving challenges when it comes to protecting their business interests, particularly with the increased use of mobile technologies, social media and remote employees. James helps to minimize the risk of litigation and protect these interests by drafting appropriate agreements. When it comes to litigation, James is also experienced in using the latest forensic technology tools to recover digital evidence of misappropriation and other tortious conduct in aid of injunctive relief. Separately, James has handled a wide variety of other litigation matters, including commercial real estate disputes, trademark and copyright infringement, and products liability matters.
In addition to trade secret litigation, James has handled a diverse range of matters—both in courts and in arbitration—for almost two decades. These matters include complex contract disputes, products liability and toxic tort defense, real estate litigation, intercreditor disputes, and shareholder actions. He has the experience to handle a wide range of litigation matters, and to explore cost-effective solutions in lieu of litigation, including settlement.
James has successfully obtained immediate and expedited injunctive relief in dozens of lawsuits in state and federal courts around the country, arising from the theft of trade secrets and violation of restrictive covenants.
James is experienced in understanding the different ways that trade secret information in digital format can be taken or misused. To counter these challenges, he employs forensic technology to uncover evidence of misappropriation.
Having been with Seyfarth for more than a decade, James appreciates the firm's core values, as well as the trust the firm places in him to represent clients. He also enjoys the collaborative atmosphere he shares with his colleagues.
