Jia supports Seyfarth attorneys on a wide range of real estate matters, including commercial mortgage-backed securities, acquisitions, and loan servicing. When working with her team, Jia is an effective communicator and always flexible with new challenges.
Prior to joining Seyfarth, Jia gained legal experience as an intern for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office in Southern California, where she completed rotations with the Special Prosecutions Unit and the Estate/Public Administration Unit.
Jia also has experience in housing advocacy from her work with the Duke Civil Justice Clinic. In this role, she worked directly with clients on matters involving actions arising from unsafe housing, landlord-tenant disputes, evictions, foreclosures, rent-to-purchase agreements, breaches of contracts, consumer protection issues, incidents of domestic violence, and the North Carolina Health Care Personnel Registry. Jia was also vice president for Duke’s Business Law Society.
Additionally, Jia has international housing advocacy experience working as a public policy and advocacy intern for the Habinteg Housing Association in London.
