More About John
Employers turn to John to help them in their traditional labor union-related matters, including collective bargaining, labor arbitrations, union election campaigns, corporate restructuring, proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, and labor matters governed by the Railway Labor Act.
While John’s practice is focused on the transportation and logistics industry, he has handled labor matters in a variety of industries. He has served as chief negotiator in national contract negotiations and airline pilot negotiations. John has spearheaded the defense of his clients facing charges and threatened litigation regarding alleged unfair labor practices. He has also provided strategic guidance and support responding to efforts by unions to embroil clients in their vendor’s labor relations issues. John also has extensive experience guiding clients through complex labor matters in the context of myriad corporate transactions—downsizing, bankruptcy, mergers and acquisitions, and other business restructuring initiatives. This includes renegotiating collective bargaining agreements, corporate structure planning, developing effective, efficient transition and integration plans, and leading the labor and employment due diligence process.
John has also assisted clients remaining non-union, even in highly unionized industries and environments, through the development of effective employment policies and practices—and conducting extensive union vulnerability assessments.
