Kwame is the leader of the Atlanta office's Real Estate team. His practice focuses on commercial real estate matters, and he is driven to provide prompt and efficient service dedicated to clients' business needs and goals. He represents clients in all facets of transactions involving the acquisition, disposition, leasing, financing, and development of commercial real estate, including multifamily, retail, office, and industrial assets.
Kwame has extensive experience leading development transactions and providing top-tier counseling with respect to the multitude of issues that may arise from the infancy of projects through development and operation, and the ultimate disposition of the projects. In addition, Kwame leads office, industrial, and retail leasing transactions for some of the largest institutional owners of such properties, and he routinely assists with the structure of transactions and with ongoing landlord/tenant issues and other asset and property management matters. Kwame's experience includes the representation of tenants in such leasing matters as he regularly assists both public and private companies with their corporate real estate needs.
In addition, Kwame has significant experience representing owners and tenants of retail projects, including big box retailers, with respect to the acquisition, leasing, financing, development, operation and, ultimately, sale of properties across the United States. With respect to retailers, he leads teams assisting with the fast-paced acquisition, development, and rollout of stores in order to meet clients' goals.
His practice also encompasses the representation of construction, bridge, and permanent lenders making loans secured by commercial real estate. Kwame's real estate practice is enhanced by his experience assisting both secured and unsecured creditors with the defense of their rights in bankruptcy proceedings as well as his representation of lenders in connection with loan workout transactions, and his prior professional experience as a commercial banker.
Kwame continually seeks opportunities to leverage Seyfarth Lean and other project management tools in order to deliver the most cost-effective and efficient legal service to clients, and to provide on-demand information with respect to large transactions handled by Kwame and his team, as well as other transactions and litigation for his clients being led by other colleagues.
Kwame is a member of Seyfarth's Lawyer Development Committee and lead of the Atlanta office’s Diversity and Inclusion Team.
