Employers are met with a vast set of ever-changing laws and resulting issues, ranging from harassment and discrimination claims to wage and hour collective and class actions. Lotus helps clients navigate the growing space of labor and employment law and provides them with creative and practical solutions to complex issues. As a member of the firm's ADA Title III & Public Access team, Lotus also counsels and defends clients in matters arising under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other state and local laws concerning disability access. She assists clients with mitigating risks posed by evolving accessibility issues and trends, including increasing numbers of website and mobile app accessibility lawsuits and demand letters.
Additionally, Lotus has extensive experience litigating wage and hour matters arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act and various state laws, spanning issues such as off-the-clock work, misclassification, improper calculation of the regular rate and overtime pay, tip credit violations, missed meal and rest breaks, donning and doffing time, pay for pre- and post-shift activities, among others. Lotus also has experience handling cases under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, and the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act.
Lotus enjoys collaborating with attorneys in various areas in order to develop innovative and efficient solutions to novel problems, and to hone her skills as a civil rights litigator and counselor.
