Michael’s practice focuses on the transactional side of real estate. He primarily represents clients in the sale and acquisition of properties in the New York Metro area as well as across the country. Clients turn to Michael when they need assistance in navigating the complexities of contract negotiations as well as negotiating terms with lenders when obtaining financing for an acquisition or refinance. He makes sure that these negotiations are manageable, and all parties are satisfied when it’s time to close the deal.

Michael has a wide range of experience with many different facets of the real estate industry. He has represented numerous borrowers taking out CMBS loans, mezzanine financing, and hard money loans. Michael has also helped clients in negotiating joint venture, development, and other complex agreements. Additionally, he has assisted New York clients acquiring properties out of state, guiding them through local laws and customs which vary significantly from those of New York.

Michael has gained a broad base of knowledge from representing clients of all types on various sides of transactions—institutional investors, REITs, multinational corporations, investment funds, and family offices. 

Michael goes above and beyond for his clients. He involves himself all throughout the life of a transaction, including letter of intent and contract negotiations, joint venture and partnership agreements, leasing, as well as title, survey, regulatory, environmental, and zoning review. In addition to providing legal advice, he builds relationships with clients in order to deliver satisfactory results.

Michael most enjoys complex acquisitions with out-of-the-box structures and financing components. He also likes to work as a team through all issues to achieve great results.
