Mick is a seasoned employment and industrial relations lawyer known for his strategic and practical approach. Mick draws on his extensive skills and experience to assist major Australian and multinational employers with all aspects of the employment relationship.
Mick’s practice focuses on industrial relations negotiations, bargaining, and dispute resolution, having worked closely with clients in the construction, resources, electricity, manufacturing, and transport industries. Mick has also assisted clients with drafting and interpreting contracts, as well as handling disciplinary and termination matters. Mick's strength lies in providing workable legal solutions so that clients can advance their commercial position, demonstrating his strong problem-solving skills.
Mick is experienced in all facets of enterprise bargaining. With a proven track record in handling contentious and protracted negotiations, often with several unions at a time, Mick focuses on securing favourable commercial outcomes for his clients. His experience includes advising employers on large industrial projects on workplace strategies to control labour costs and limit lost time due to industrial action. He has also directly negotiated enterprise bargaining agreements and other business solutions with unions for a number of major mining contractors.
When facing significant change management projects, such as restructures and takeovers, clients have relied on Mick to provide proactive solutions to help them avoid litigation and limit costs.
