More About Pete
International employment law matters can be challenging. Clients often do not have sufficient resources in house to manage these in foreign locations, nor do they have the bandwidth, support, or requisite local legal and linguistic knowledge to be comfortable attempting to resolve them. Pete leverages his experience in more than 150 jurisdictions, acting for multiple companies around the world, to assist clients wherever they have a problem, and to find pragmatic and cost-effective solutions.
Pete has more than two decades of cutting-edge international employment law experience. He is employment counsel to major multinationals and financial institutions on strategic cross-border employment matters. His focus is in all aspects of UK and cross-border employment law, in particular, international corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance (employment), financial services compliance, and ethical HR matters. He is an accomplished human rights advocate, and has given formal evidence to the parliaments of the UK and Canada on draft modern-slavery laws. He has led some of the largest and most complex employment law projects in the world, including the core redesign of a national labor law system and a multibillion euro global restructure in 120 jurisdictions.
Pete is a popular speaker, and has lectured in the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia on international employment law matters including at the Vatican and the United Nations on the design of Modern Slavery Legislation. He has appeared on BBC Television News, and has been quoted in major British, French, and German newspapers, including The Times, The Financial Times, The Independent, The Guardian, and The Sunday Telegraph. He has been published widely in various HR and employment law journals in the UK, Europe, and the US. His work has been recognised by several legal awards organisations.
Pete greatly appreciates the team at Seyfarth. In his words: "We are absolutely the best international employment law practice in the world. Our team has worked on projects that very few, if any, law firms get to do. We are exceptionally collaborative and genuinely help each other. Seyfarth is the nicest law firm I could imagine working for. There might be a better platform for an ambitious international employment lawyer—I just don't know what that could be."
Our London office operates as Seyfarth Shaw (UK) LLP, an affiliate of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Seyfarth Shaw (UK) LLP is a limited liability partnership established under the laws of the State of Delaware, USA and is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority with registered number 556927.
