Rick represents lenders, primary servicers, master servicers, and special servicers in all aspects of structured finance and serving matters related to commercial (CMBS) and residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS). He has experience representing clients in matters such as assumptions, defeasances, reconfigurations, condominium conversions, senior and mezzanine financing, preferred equity investing, loan modifications, cash management issues, and issues related to defaulted real estate loans and troubled assets. Rick has experience working with special servicers in workouts and other resolutions relating to nonperforming loans, including restructurings of debt, loan modifications and extensions, and exercising lender rights and remedies. He also represents loan originators and issuers in securitization matters.
In addition, Rick represents hedge funds, banks, and other entities in the acquisition and disposition of commercial and residential mortgage loans and the related mortgage servicing rights (MSRs). He has significant experience in the acquisition of pools of performing and nonperforming residential and commercial mortgage loans and the related MSRs from almost every major Wall Street-based holder of mortgage loans.
In addition, Rick represents hedge funds, banks, and other entities in the acquisition and disposition of commercial and residential mortgage loans and the related mortgage servicing rights (MSRs). He has significant experience in the acquisition of pools of performing and nonperforming residential and commercial mortgage loans and the related MSRs from almost every major Wall Street-based holder of mortgage loans.

- Represented a major servicer client as subservicer on the successful completion of a $350 million securitization of residential bridge loans, currently recognized as the largest ever issuance in this asset class. Although the number of marketable securities was significantly upsized during the marketing period to accommodate excess demand from institutional investors, the total number of order requests was appreciably in excess of the quantity of notes available in the bond offering.
- Represented a servicer in obtaining the servicing and asset management of a loss share portfolio consisting of more than 100 loans backed by 102 properties including condominium units, multifamily complexes, and office buildings.
