Bob is involved in all areas of client representation, including day-to-day advice and counsel in all areas of labor and employment law (for example, employment discrimination, including handling issues involving sexual harassment and other forms of employee harassment, disability discrimination, age discrimination, reductions in force, WARN, and policy and procedure development), issues arising under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, drafting employment agreements for executives and high-level managerial and professional employees, administrative litigation, management training regarding sexual harassment and EEO, mediations and arbitrations, and more. Bob regularly conducts workplace investigations into alleged employee misconduct, including allegations of discrimination and harassment, whistleblowing, and corporate governance involving high-level executives and members of management. Bob handles a variety of affirmative action matters for clients, including assisting clients with affirmative action plan development, preparing for and guiding companies through compliance evaluations (including "glass ceiling" audits such as Corporate Management Reviews), conducting audit-readiness training, responding to allegations of compensation and other forms of discrimination, and Notices of Violations, and negotiating Conciliation Agreements. Additionally, he regularly assists clients with pay equity audits, and in the development of diversity programs, including establishing voluntary diversity and affirmative action goals.

Bob devotes a substantial portion of his practice to handling a variety of wage and hour-related matters arising under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage and hour laws. This includes advising clients regarding the proper exemption status of their employees, recommending alternative approaches to the payment of overtime, conducting wage and hour audits to ensure client compliance with the FLSA’s exemption provisions, representing clients before the federal and state departments of labor during audits, and in negotiating settlements.

Bob represents companies in a number of industries, including financial services and banking, insurance, transportation, and retail, and also is involved in substantial pro bono work. 

Prior to commencing the practice of law more than 30 years ago, Bob worked for several major companies in the Personnel and Labor Relations area. 

Bob is named in the International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers (Law Business Research Ltd.) (2005), a publication identifying him as one of the leaders in the field of management labor and employment law. Bob was nominated for this publication by law firm clients and labor and employment lawyers from around the world. He has also been recognized as a leading lawyer in labor and employment law: workplace and employment counseling by The Legal 500 (Legalese Ltd.) (2012-2018). Also, The Legal 500 noted: "New York lawyer Robert Nobile is the 'first attorney to turn to for employment issues, from the Americans with Disability Act to the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs.'" He was also rated in the top five percent of attorneys in New York State for Employment & Labor law by New York Super Lawyers (Thomson Reuters) (2007-2012, 2014-2023). Bob is also a recognized fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.
