More About Ryan
Competitive benefits are necessary components of any employer's compensation package to employees. Complying with the ever-evolving requirements of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, DOL regulations, and other federal laws is a challenge that requires constant vigilance. Clients turn to Ryan to ensure that their benefit plans stay in compliance, learn about legal changes that affect their benefit plans and rely on his experience to preemptively address potential concerns. When issues occur, Ryan has the knowledge and firm resources to quickly and efficiently assist clients in remedying those problems.
Ryan has been involved in the employee benefits industry for nearly two decades. His previous experience in recordkeeping and third-party administration equips him with a unique perspective into compliance/nondiscrimination testing and day-to-day operations and administration of both defined contribution and defined benefit plans. That knowledge is imbued into the advice he provides clients to best suit their individual needs in obtaining services and value from providers.
Ryan has extensive experience in plan design, reporting, and disclosure requirements and obtaining favorable determination letters. He also has comprehensive experience assisting clients in correcting failures through VCP and SCP under EPCRS of the IRS, the IRS's EP Voluntary Compliance program, the DOL's DFVC and VFC programs, and representing clients before the PBGC.
Ryan enjoys being part of Seyfarth, one of the largest employee benefits groups in the country, and draws upon those vast resources when serving his clients.
