Compensation and benefit offerings are subject to complex and evolving federal and state laws. Ryan counsels clients regarding fiduciary duties, the administration of benefit plans, new health care laws, and deferred compensation litigation.
Ryan draws on a broad range of litigation experience. He has represented public entities and businesses in catastrophic personal injury claims and in real estate and business disputes. Ryan has represented insureds, claimants, and beneficiaries in ERISA and state law disputes involving benefit claim denials. He has extensive deposition experience of fact and expert witnesses, and trial experience in federal and state court.
Having represented ERISA and employee benefits clients, Ryan has unique insight into the plaintiff bar and the strategy behind these actions. He has assisted clients through every aspect of litigation, from handling pretrial appeals to working as the lead handling attorney through trial matters.
