Stephanie has also defended employers and management against single- and multiplaintiff claims of discrimination and harassment before federal and state courts and the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Stephanie draws on her years of experience to assist clients with a wide range of labor and employment matters. She defends employers and management against claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation based on sex, race, national origin, age, religion, pregnancy, and disability, as well as other protected categories. Stephanie has experience representing both employers and employees in federal and state courts, administrative agency investigations, and mediations.
Additionally, Stephanie served as in-house counsel for a Fortune 500 company, focusing solely on employment law. In this capacity, she represented the corporate employer in discrimination and retaliation claims before the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and state agencies. As in-house counsel, Stephanie was responsible for advising business leaders and human resources personnel on a broad range of topics and issues relating to hiring and termination decisions, leave of absence, drug testing, accommodation issues, exempt/non-exempt classifications under the Fair Labor Standards Act, wage and hour claims, criminal background checks, and discrimination and retaliation claims arising under various state and federal statutes. In this capacity, she collaborated with the human resources team on internal investigations, trainings, and updating employee handbooks.
Stephanie has also represented employees in claims against employers and management, including claims arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the ADA, the ADEA, the FMLA, USERRA, and wage and hour laws, as well as other types of employment disputes, such as those relating to non-solicitation agreements, restrictive covenants, and violations of employment contracts.
Stephanie enjoys the challenges that come with defending employers, and works particularly hard to minimize business disruptions. She knows that understanding the inner workings of her clients’ business is essential to helping them accomplish their unique objectives.
