Infrastructure & Project Finance
Navigating a maze of challenges begins well before a major infrastructure project comes to market. From pre-procurement, bidding, and negotiation through financing, construction, operation and maintenance, you need a partner with focus and skill.
HOW WE HELP
Armed with an in-depth understanding of complex issues facing the public and private sectors, our Infrastructure & Project Finance team has handled some of the most high-profile infrastructure improvement projects in the market. Seyfarth has been hands-on at all sides of the table in these transformative projects, representing project developers, sponsors, banks and institutional investors, design-builders, facility operators and maintenance providers, and state and local government agencies and authorities.
For projects of this scale, obstacles can arise at any time – and some present major make-or-break moments. Market participants also continue to grapple with risk allocation, a lack of available public funds, and the ability to keep projects moving in the face of inevitable delays. Clients engage Seyfarth for our ability to see around corners, proactively identifying market, revenue, and other risks and liabilities that could impact a project’s success. In a field in which the ground shifts frequently, our attorneys remain focused on the long game. Infrastructure projects are not for the faint of heart, yet our knowledge, experience, and broad resources help clients seize opportunities in this rapid-fire arena.
We leverage our leading construction, real estate, and finance practices to deliver a multi-disciplinary team capable of advising throughout the life of a project. Working collaboratively, our attorneys craft innovative joint venture, development, financing and public-private partnership models, and work with all parties involved to reach win-win arrangements for successful project delivery.
When managing the multiple interests surrounding these fast-paced deals, we are fully accessible to clients, look ahead to identify hurdles that potentially threaten the project, and find workable, commercially-viable solutions to challenging legal issues.
Our infrastructure experience focuses heavily on airports, educational facilities, transportation (roads, tollways, bridges/tunnels, rail and transit), and water projects. In 2018, Seyfarth was named a Law360 top Transportation "Practice Group of the Year," a distinction given to select firms behind major deals.
THE SEYFARTH EXPERIENCE
Clients working with our Infrastructure & Project Finance Team gain a true partner. We invest in fully understanding your goals in addition to understanding all aspects of the transaction. With this approach, clients take comfort knowing that not only are we proactively working to eliminate or mitigate project risks, but when an issue does arise we have a holistic view that better positions us to propose innovative, practical solutions that meet your objectives. When required by the needs of the project, our team leverages the collective strength of the firm’s full-service platform, bringing in colleagues from our industry-leading real estate, construction, P3, economic development, and project finance practices.
