More About Alison
Clients involved in large public and private developments face a myriad of unique complexities—not only regarding the asset being developed, but also with respect to the regulatory and funding frameworks governing the development. Often, the projects involve multiple stakeholders, with frequently competing interests, requiring a commercial yet facilitative approach.
Alison is co-chair of the firm's Construction practice and leads the team from the perspective of the front-end delivery of projects. Through this role, she is able to highlight the firm's strong capabilities in representing stakeholders on a broad range of developments, and brings particular attention to Seyfarth's breadth of transactional major project experience.
From a public project perspective, Alison has represented clients in the procurement of projects, including via public-private partnership; in the sectors of economic infrastructure (rail, aviation, transportation, waste water, and desalination projects); and in social infrastructure (education, housing, and health projects). She has represented the full range of stakeholders on public projects and takes advantage of having sat on all sides of the negotiating table by promoting straightforward and bankable solutions. Key recent achievements in this space include the representation of the design-build joint venture member of the private consortium selected to redevelop the LaGuardia Airport Central Terminal Building in New York, and the representation of the design-build joint venture member of the private consortium appointed to develop the James A. Farley Building in New York into the new Moynihan Station.
On the private sector side, Alison has been a trusted advisor to investors, sponsors, design-builders, and operations and maintenance contractors on the optimum allocation of risk on individual projects. She has an intuitive understanding of what is required to a "get a deal done," and facilitates the resolution of issues via commercial and practical solutions. Key recent projects in the private space include the development of a large fertilizer plant in Wever, Iowa, the development of a state-of-the-art entertainment venue in Las Vegas, and the development of a biodiesel facility in Georgia.
