Jon partners with clients to solve day-to-day employment problems and high-stakes employment litigation in California.
More About Jon
Employers of every size in California face a challenging landscape of state-specific leave laws, accommodation requirements, and technical wage-and-hour obligations. Clients look to Jon to provide practical solutions to defend existing, or threatened, single-plaintiff and class action lawsuits. Clients also look to Jon for advice and counsel before problems become active litigation matters. He is also the co-managing partner of the Los Angeles - Century City office.
Jon has litigated single-plaintiff and class action matters on behalf of employers in an expansive range of industries, including pharmaceutical, telecommunications, industrial manufacturing, education, natural resources, aerospace, retail, transportation, digital imaging, automotive, and news media. He provides advice and counsel to employers to proactively avoid single-plaintiff and class action litigation. Jon has experience drafting employer policies and conducting wage and hour audits.
Jon's pre-legal work experience has given him a deep sense of customer service and an insight into the challenges employees and employers face in the workforce. His background includes being a union member as a vendor at Fenway Park, a bank teller at a financial services institution, a customer service representative, a licensed wholesaler of variable annuities, and a human resources trainer at an insurance company. From these experiences, Jon provides advice and guidance to help clients meet their legal obligations, while still supporting their business needs.
Jon began his legal career as a general litigator, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in various commercial disputes before shifting exclusively to employment law. He once successfully defended a large retail client in a single-plaintiff jury trial alleging discrimination, retaliation, and leave interference.
To keep clients regularly informed about active matters, Jon leverages Seyfarth's unique set of tools and approaches to legal service delivery. Clients love Jon's direct and to-the-point communication style. His email updates are easily digestible, and can be quickly repurposed to send on to contacts within the organization to provide answers to key questions.
Jon loves helping clients solve day-to-day problems. At Seyfarth, he is proud to work with attorneys who are as enthusiastic as he is about the ever-changing landscape of employment law and how to help clients navigate employment matters.
