More About Matthew
Branding is more than visual identity—it is how companies differentiate themselves in a crowded market, it helps create loyalty with consumers, and it creates a framework for consistency in messaging. Matthew helps clients in the full spectrum of branding-related issues and understands that protecting a client’s brand goes beyond trademarks. He partners with his clients to provide practical advice based on a deep understanding of the law that can be directly implemented by the business.
Working with clients from across industries, Matthew has experience with advertising, licensing, IP acquisition and due diligence, IP enforcement, domain name registration and application, and online branding. He has worked with clients in the consumer goods and services, media and entertainment, games and gaming, chemical distribution, fashion and apparel, travel, health care, and financial services industries to optimize trademark portfolios to reduce unnecessary filings and expand in critical areas to maximize benefit and protection.
Matthew also works with clients to defend their brands against cybersquatting and unauthorized online use, and has successfully represented clients in federal and state courts, before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), and arbitrations.
