Big or small, Steve helps clients protect some of their most important intangible assets: brand names and creative works
More About Stephen
Customers know companies by their trademarks, allowing them to recognize genuine company products and services. Steve helps companies protect their valuable brands against counterfeiters and others, using similar trademarks.
Since beginning his practice in 2011, Steve has focused exclusively on intellectual property law. He helps clients protect their trademarks via registration at the state and federal level, as well as internationally. He also represents clients in intellectual property litigation in federal and state courts—and in proceedings before the US Patent and Trademark Office's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Steve also works with clients to protect their creative works such as photographs, books, and artworks via copyright registration and enforcement.
Steve is actively involved in the intellectual property community, including the International Trademark Association and the American Bar Association's Section of Intellectual Property, where he has worked with other IP professionals to draft resolutions to Congress and to the US Patent and Trademark Office concerning emerging issues in intellectual property law.
Steve enjoys the challenge of learning about his clients' diverse industries, from health care, pharmaceuticals, and insurance, to home goods, clothing, and food and beverage products. In an age that is increasingly reliant on email-based communication, Steve also enjoys talking voice-to-voice with his clients. As nuance often gets lost in text, Steve understands how helpful even a short phone call can be.
